During the spring and summer months, you will enjoy unique sunsets accompanied by a fine cava from the region and the magnificent views of Penedès.
Mas Pigot is located in the Foix Natural Park. From the rural house, we recommend a short route that leads to the Castle of Castellet. The trail passes through vineyards and forests with typical Mediterranean vegetation.
The complete route starts from the Castle of Sant Raïmon de Penyafort (Santa Margarida i els Monjos) and reaches the Castle of Castellet. It is an easy hike with gentle slopes, following paths and tracks. In total, it covers about 7 km with a maximum elevation gain of 117 m, and the total duration is approximately 2 hours.
The oldest building at Mas Pigot, the dovecote or pigeon tower, is undated but is believed to date back to the medieval period. According to Wikipedia, a dovecote is a structure for breeding pigeons and squabs. The materials used for its construction vary by country and region, as they depend on the resources available in each area, as well as its structure.
